Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Collection

I love a hair product with Argan Oil in it. For centuries, Moroccan women have used this lightweight yet rich elixir to protect their hair (and skin) from UV damage while creating soft, silky perfection. It used to be that you had to purchase these Argan Oil–infused products at a salon or beauty boutique, and they would cost a pretty penny. Thankfully, Organix just launched the Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Collection (Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditioner, Renewing Treatment and Penetrating Oil) that performs just as well as its prestige counterparts, but costs around $9 per product and is available at drugstores.
Each formula is sulfate and paraben-free, and packaged in bottles made from materials containing recycled post-consumer resin. And all labels are printed utilizing environmentally-friendly inks and compostable label film made from annually renewable resource corn, not from petrochemicals.

*Samples were provided by the brand for review.

Would You Let Your Man Do Your Makeup?

Would you let your boyfriend/husband do your makeup? As this video proves, it's probably not a great idea - though it's definitely entertaining...and the end result is pretty decent.

One of my favorite parts is when the boyfriend/makeup artist calls the MAC eye liner pencil "a MAC thang." Hilarious.

Photography: My trip to the family farm

Hi All!!

I visited my step-dads dairy farm this past weekend to relax, spend some time with my mom and go horse riding. It was a lovely break away from the city and I can not wait to go back again this weekend. I would love to take up photography and as mentioned in a previous post here, so the weekend and fab surroundings were a great opportunity to get my camera out and start snapping.

Take a peak at what I managed to snap....

My step-dad owns 280 acres so you can imagine there is way more I can photography over the next few months, the weather is perfect for it! I also helped create School Farm's very first website which has gone down well.

Makeup Mondays With Mario: Mascara Made Easy

Celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic is answering your burning beauty questions!!! Every Monday, he will answer a beauty/skin care question as part of a weekly column on Spoiled Pretty, Makeup Mondays with Mario.

Hi Mario!

I'm confused and I need your help. It seems that there are so many conflicting "rules" about how to apply mascara and I don't know which ones to follow. Some say to hold the wand vertically while others say horizontally. I've been told to bend the wand - what good does that do? And some tips say let your mascara dry between coats, while other tips say not to let the coat dry before applying more.

If anyone knows the best way to apply mascara, I know it's you. So please help, Mario!

You rock,
Reena

Hey Reena,

I don't blame you for feeling confused! Applying mascara should be one of the most simple steps in your makeup routine. I'm not sure that there is technically a "best way" to apply mascara as it really depends on your lashes and how you prefer them to look and feel. When I apply mascara, I hold the wand horizontally and apply it first to the root of the lash up to the tip.  If I want a darker and fuller lash, I usually wiggle the brush from side to side to really coat the lashes with mascara.

I prefer to apply a second or third coat while the lashes are still wet because it allows for easier blending and separating. The same goes for the bottom lashes as well. I recommend you find your own way to apply mascara that feels most comfortable to you and gives you the result you want.  In other words, you make your own rules to follow!

Thanks for visiting Makeup Mondays with Mario!

xo,
Mario
