Dermalogica Daily Clean Scrub

Anyone who knows me knows that I love me some Dermalogica. My problem skin has never responded to skincare products the way it does to Dermalogica. Even though I test a lot of products, I always keep Dermalogica products in the rotation because, otherwise, my skin up and stages a mutiny. I recommend Dermalogica to my friends, family and co-workers so much, you'd think I was making a commission. So when my husband, Mr. Spoiled Pretty, was running low on his face scrub, I took the opportunity to introduce him to one of my favorite brands.

The following is his (first) Spoiled Pretty review:

"I'm not a fancy boy/fancy pants. I don't use many grooming products. Shaving cream, soap and after shave are basically it. But I am a true believer in face scrubs. I think Chanel has awesome face scrubs and Nivea is pretty much the stand-by, but Dermalogica's Daily Clean Scrub is one of the best I've used. It's great for when you haven't used a face scrub in months...you'll feel like a new man, because it's got a very abrasive, almost sandpaper-ish feel. After you use it, you'll feel great, clean, and very confident. You'll feel like a sexy beast...women (i.e., your wife or girlfriend) will SWOON.  I use it every day."

Direct sunlight through our skin. Ultra violet light is absorbed our skin is greatly increased. Regeneration of the skin is more active. Currently we have more concern for the care of our skin, so the condition of the skin is maintained, preventing premature aging and maintain healthy skin. How do I treat the skin to the weather changes? Here are some tips for skin care for face and body:

Tip 1: Clean the skin
light wind hit our faces, making us feel comfortable, but it is actually causing dust and dirt menyumpat pores of our skin, add a thick pile of dead skin cells and dirt on our skin. Therefore, the most important skin care is clean skin.

If your skin is not clean, then the pile of dead skin cells will grow thicker, blackheads and acne, disrupting the absorption of vitamins and nutrients for the skin. Therefore, keeping the skin clean is important.
To clean the facial skin, choose a facial cleanser that does not cause skin alergy on face, do not contain harmful chemicals and according to your skin type.
Besides skin cleanser also adapt to the conditions of our skin, such as when we use thick makeup, skin cleanser that can be used to perfectly clean the remnants of makeup. At the moment we do not use makeup, use a cleanser that can be lighter. On the condition of oily skin and dry skin at that time, use a cleaner that is different for both conditions.

Tip 2: Maintain Skin Moisture
If you are in a tropical climate where temperatures average tinggi.Sinar blazing sun can stimulate the oil glands to work more actively, but the skin is often dehydrated. Therefore you must choose skin care products that have a high water content to the skin retain moisture, causing dryness of the skin and prevent premature aging.

Tip 3: Use a regular scrub
Dirt and dead skin cells that clog pores of the skin, leaving it dull and unable to breathe and reduces the skin's ability to absorb nutrients. To prevent this, regularly use the Scrub or Lulur. Lulur or SCRUB serve as sandpaper, including impurities and dead skin cells to perfection, so the skin can breathe a sigh of relief and be able to fully absorb the nutrients, as well as promoting the growth of new skin cells faster. The skin looks clean and shiny.
Use a scrub or a Lulur natural ingredients are safe for the skin and causes no allergies.

Tip 4: Use a Helper Cosmetic Ingredients
If the condition of the facial skin or body in unhygienic conditions such as acne, premature wrinkles or dull, then some alternative treatments or cosmetic skin treatment can be used to cure or restore your skin condition speed.
Please note that the use of cosmetics or skin care treatment is not recommended for use in a long time the effects of pigmentation of the skin to prevent coercion. After the recovery period, further treatments can be done using mild soap or other protective powder.

Tip 5: Avoid direct sunlight
To maintain healthy skin should avoid direct sunlight, use of skin care products that contain SPF. Adjust the level of SPF for your skin needs. If you indulge in the open air (outside) use sunscreens with high SPF levels, but if you're in the room, not exposed to direct sunlight, use sunscreen with an SPF low. A high SPF levels have a higher oil content downside is clogging the skin pores thus blocking the skin to breathe.
So choose carefully sunscreens, high SPF is not necessarily suitable for your skin type.

Makeup Mondays With Mario: Pores No More!

Celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic is answering your burning beauty questions!!! Every Monday, he will answer a beauty/skin care question as part of a weekly column on Spoiled Pretty, Makeup Mondays with Mario.

Hi Mario,

If you're reading this question and about to answer it - thank you, thank you, thank you! My problem is that I have HUGE pores. My pores are a big issue for me and I hate the way they make my skin look. Are there any skincare products or makeup that you can recommend that will shrink and/or conceal them? Thanks so much for your expert advice. I'm your biggest fan!

Love,
Holly

Hi Holly,

I've got three words for you - "Pores No More." Famed dermatologist Dr. Brandt created Pores No More products to help visibly reduce the size and appearance of large pores.

You can follow with your normal makeup routine or even try a product like Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base by L'Oreal. Just apply with your finger to the T-zone and any areas with large pores. It will smooth out the skin's texture and fill in fine lines and pores for a more flawless makeup application.

Thanks for visiting Makeup Mondays with Mario!

xo,
Mario

Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

Since adolescence, I've suffered with hyperpigmentation. Like many women of color, my blemishes leave dark marks in their wake - which can take weeks, months and even years to fade. For forever, I've used foundations and highlighters to hide these dark spots. But I've recently come to a point in my life where I'm tired of masking the problem. As a busy mom, I don't have the time or the energy it takes to put on a full face of makeup on a regular basis. Most days, I leave the house bare faced - save for some mascara and a couple swipes of gloss. Hyperpigmentation has undermined my self esteem for too long, so I decided it was time to heal, rather than conceal.

So last month, I added Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator to my morning routine. And let me tell you...this additional step (which takes just 1 minute) has been life changing. First of all, the pearlescent serum imparts a radiant glow upon application - so even though the product actually takes about two weeks to start doing its thang, there are immediate perks.

And after just 10 days, I started to notice that my skin looked more even toned, luminous and smoother. The formula is lightweight and smells dreamy, so putting it on is a refreshing A.M. experience. And after a month, I am much more confident showing my bare skin to the world because my dark marks are starting to see the light.

I'm not usually the best at being consistent with skin care because, as you know, I test a lot of products. But this one is so simple and yields such amazing results that I actually look forward to putting it on. Because Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator targets the dark marks (as well as redness, acne marks, sun spots and other discolorations), you don't have to worry about it lightening the other areas of your face. And the oil-free formula is proven gentle and effective for all ethnicities. Just be sure to use an SPF product on your face every day, to prevent the marks from darkening up again.

I can't recommend Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator enough. It's become my holy grail - and if you buy it and try it, you'll understand why. I'm also anxious to try the Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules Intensive Treatment for Face and Throat

I have a full-time career (in addition to Spoiled Pretty) and I’m also a new mom, which means that I’m short on spare time - especially in the morning. Before I had Westley, I used to take my time and carefully apply my makeup before heading off to work. Now I’m so busy that I’ve had to seriously streamline my morning routine. On days when I’m in a rush, but need to look pulled together and polished, I even out my skin with foundation, then apply a skincare product that contains Vitamin E oil.

During the winter, when I’m abnormally dry, I pat Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules Intensive Treatment for Face and Throat on top of my foundation, all over my face for a dreamily dewy glow. It imparts a healthy radiance while protecting my skin from environmental stress and working its anti-aging magic. Now that it’s summertime, my skin is on oil overload – so, instead of applying it all over my face, I’ve been using the serum just on the bridge of my nose, my cheekbones and brows - to highlight my bone structure.

Hyperpigmentation is also a major skin issue for me, and I’ve found vitamin E to be particularly effective at diminishing my dark marks and acne scars – so this product is great for that too. Just remember to also use sunscreen so that the dark spots don't re-appear!

The Ceramide Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules have so many benefits that they're well worth the $68 price of admission. Plus the container looks so pretty on your vanity. Just be sure to warn your sweet tooth of a spouse to look but NOT touch…Mr. Spoiled Pretty almost ate one of the capsules, thinking it was candy!
