So I am hoping to get the backlogged topics posted as soon as I possibly can.

But to start with I thought I would show you a recent make up look I tried on a whim before one of our gigs actually. I hope you like it.....

Take a closer peek......

Review: No7 & Poppy King Lipstick

Hi All!!

Product:
No7 & Poppy King 'Allure' Lipstick

It's Purpose:
"The Magic of Lipstick" A new range of lipsticks to suit all in seven luscious shades brought to regular No7 customers. With regards to the shade Allure- "Lip colour is so alluring, it draws people to you and doesn?t have to shout to do this, just whisper. For this look I designed a soft peachy shade, which is similar to a natural lip colour - perfect for women of all ages."

My Opinion:
I was gifted this lipstick to try out and review for you guys. The new range available to purchase in Boots has seven shades; I was given Allure to try out. It came gift wrapped which I thought was a lovely touch although I am aware this is not how it would be purchased in stores. The packaging is what I expected it to be when I first saw the promotional videos of Poppy King introducing it; as I have never seen any lippies with a similar packaging I think it stands out.

It is a lovely peachy shade and feels lovely when applied to my lips. I have to say it is quote sheer but used with a lip liner in a similar shade will make the shade 'pop' a little more. For me to use it it appears quite natual against my skin....

As you may know this is not a shade I would usually buy as I prefer shades such as pinks and reds that I wear on a daily basis. I do however own a few natural shades of lippy and wear them occasionally- not too often, but often enough. I will be wearing this often though I think, what do you think....

I think I will make this a regular look now on those days where I just want to look natural!! A definate thumbs up :)

If you are interested in some more information on the range by No7 and Poppy King then take a peek at this video...

Tips: How to do bright make up!!

Hi All!!

It's a known fact that sometimes when we do our make up whether it is morning, noon or night that when we go out and about it doesn't quite look as good, as neat or bright as we thought it did when we last looked at ourselves in our dressing table mirrors. The worse evidence we often receive of our make up is in a photo taken that day/night. Today I thought I would do a quick guide of how to make your make up POP!!

Primer & Foundation
A Primer is applied to help smooth out your skin to get that flawless photo finish. Apply foundation primer after you’ve cleansed and moisturized your skin and before you apply foundation. Starting with the base; everyones skin is completely different and therefore we all need to use a good foundation (liquid/powder/cream) that matches your skin type and shade.

Blush
Blush lifts our face instantly and is available in a wide selection of shades for every occasion. To make your blush really pop, first apply a underlayer such as a creme blush or highlighter and then apply your powder blush. This will really grab the powder blush and help make the shade brighter. A pigmented blush will always stand out, try sweeping a tiny bit of highliter over the apples of your cheeks!

Eyes
As with your foundation a really good eyeshadow base such as a eye shader pencil or concealer will hold your eyeshadow, prevent it from creasing and make your shadow pop. Ideally for those brights such as blue, turquoise and silver try and use a base that is the same shade as your eyeshadow.

Lips
Always always apply a lip base such as lip balm to smooth out your lips. Then apply a lip pencil by outlining your lips and also colouring your lips which will help keep the lipstick in place and also stop it from bleeding. Apply your lipstick and then top it off with a lipgloss.

This is all the steps I take to help my make up stand out so I hope this helps anyone who was unsure on this topic. If you need step by step tutorials visit YouTube and take a peek at some fab Make-up Artists videos!

£2 Beauty Haul!

Hi All!!

Are you wondering how I managed the below beauty items for just £2?

M.A.C Lipstick 'Russian Red
I was due my latest Back 2 MAC with six empty containers. I wasn't too sure what lippy I wanted to add to my collection. But once I got to the counter I decided to go for a red and was recommended Russian Red. I have seen this lippy around so much and it is very popular with many people so it really is about time I added it to my collection.

No7 Nail Polish 'Salsa'
I used my £5 off voucher for No7 to buy this polish. Its more of a shimmery shade then what you can see here so watch out for a nails of the week.

I couldn't wait to try on my lippy.....

Currently Loving Lipsticks

Hi All!!!

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you should be aware that I love wearing lipsticks. I just wanted to show you the five lippies I currently have in rotation on a weekly basis for day and night time looks.

Left to Right
No7: Tangerine Touch
M.A.C: Impassioned
Victoria Jackson: Un-named
Victoria Jackson: Un-named
Collection 2000: Ruby Red

Unfortunately the Victoria Jackson cosmetics do not have official names for each product. It would be fab if they did so that in future I can name them for you off the top of my head; nevermind.

I took another photo of the No7 and M.A.C lipsticks so that you can see just how bright they are as the above photo does them no justice.

Love them!

Here are the swatches of the lippies against my skin; first time i've done swatches for my blog....

I think changing my make-up look on a daily basis helps with each outfit I wear also. I'm not sure about you guys but if i'm wearing red lipstick for instance I sometimes feel like a bit of a movie star; especially if I match my make-up look with winged liquid eyeliner etc.

Lipstick really does bring that extra oomph to a make-up look and I always like to channel a different look or era occasionally and this helps. It's also great for those days when I just do simple natual make-up and then adding bright pink lips will add that little bit extra rather then just looking 'simple'.

What are your thoughts?
